LOVELY STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

This project started as a case study in the Fall of 2016.  Just over a year later in the Spring of 2018, the owner of the business would commission the design and development of a single page scrolling website.

What does the business owner need from a website?

SURVEYING THE CLIENT NEEDS

In interviewing the owner of Lovely Strength & Conditioning, the team was able to determine the parameters needed to begin this case study. Both written surveys and a follow-up in-person interview engaged the owner on website needs, target audience and website goals.

What types of people would access this website?

DEVELOPING USER PERSONAS

Two user personas were developed to attempt to answer the question who might access this website?  What would their needs be when accessing the site?

How will people navigate the site?

SITEMAP DEVELOPMENT

The development of a Sitemap helps in the early part of the design phase to see how one might navigate the website.

What could the website layout look like without visuals?

WIREFRAME DEVELOPMENT

Development of wireframes helps to see what the landing page and destination page layouts could look like.  Doing this without color and images helps stakeholders focus on Logo placement, navigation layout, call to action placement, and an early look at how users might engage the webpage.

What message could the look and feel of the website send?

VISUAL DESIGN

One of the final steps in the design process is to add in the visuals; color, images, typeface, and finalizing layout.  Attempting to answer the questions of whether or this design stays on point with the companies brand?  Will the visuals be inclusive to people with certain disabilities?

This case study lead to a website opportunity.

FROM CASE STUDY TO CURRENT WEBSITE

The website needs of Lovely Strength & Conditioning were not as robust as the case study.  What the owner needed was a visually appealing destination page to draw customers into the sign-up landing page.  Access to social media accounts also needed to be a priority.  This project also had a two-week design and development timeline.

OLD DESTINATION PAGE

From 2014 to the Summer of 2018 Lovely Strength & Conditioning's home page was minimum navigation and sign up portal called Zenplanner. This portal page took clients to sign up areas for different programs.

A new visual design and layout

KEEP IT SIMPLE

Lovely Strength & Conditioning would be keeping their current website presence with Zenplanner.  What was needed in the design was a much more visually appealing introduction to the company, the owner, and what Lovely Strength & Conditioning offered.

Familiarity leads to quick design

VISUAL DESIGN MOCKUPS

Having already become very familiar with the Lovely Strength & Conditioning website needs through the case study it was very easy to move forward with visual mockups.

The end result

A SUCCESSFUL DESIGN

The final result was very well received by the owner Mike Lovely and his clients.  It helped to establish a professional web presence and integrate the existing Zenplanner setup.
